Taylor's Goal
It is my wish that someday " no child will ever have to face cancer."
Tay-bandz is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research and raising awareness of pediatric cancer. Tay-bandz consists of only volunteers, and therefore every dollar raised goes directly to research to find a cure.
Tay-bandz was founded in 2003 when 11 year old Taylor Matthews was diagnosed with bone cancer. Shortly after diagnosis Taylor became aware that very little government funding is available for pediatric cancers. There is also precious little private philanthropy. Children don't vote, march on Washington or pay taxes. Taylor realized that kids with cancer needed a champion.
Taylor wanted some good to come from her battle with cancer, so with the help of family and friends Taylor started tay-bandz by designing and manufacturing accessories for sale in her local community. Sales rapidly expanded to other communities, several states and parts of Europe. Tay-bandz has donated research money to several major cancer hospitals in the New York Area. Funds are currently being awarded to the solid tumor research lab at one of the select pediatric cancer hospitals in the United States.
