About TaylorLetter to Congress I am writing to ask that you oppose funding cuts for cancer research and programs as proposed in the President's budget and that you instead adopt a budget that will allow for increased funding for life-saving cancer programs and research. As someone who has been personally affected by cancer, I am deeply disappointed in the President's proposed cuts which move us further off the path to fulfilling the Bush Administration's own goal of eliminating suffering and death from cancer by 2015. I am the mother of a 14 year old cancer survivor. My daughter is alive today because of cutting edge cancer research. In order to find a treatment that would save my daughters life, my husband and I had to travel and speak with almost every major pediatric cancer institution in the US and hire a consultant and review medical information from outside the US. Fortunately, a treatment in the US worked. I beg you to continue to fund research to save the lives of PRECIOUS YOUNG CHILDREN. I have already seen too many children pass away from this horrific disease. Please use me to speak out to help save the children. THE KIDS NEED A HERO to save their lives. Thank you, |
